Visions in the Sea 2010 has arrived!
Visions in the Sea Summer Series is a new idea designed to get underwater photographers together at various location around the UK coastline to dive. The Summer Series will include 6 weekend events around the UK coastline taking in some of the best diving and underwater photography the UK has to offer. Sponsored by Mares and with some of the best tuition in underwater photography, these weekends will give you the opportunity to dive, get expert advice on underwater photography, 1 to 1 advice from the experts and a chance to meet up with fellow photographers and divers for a weekend diving. We are now half way through the Visions in the Sea Summer series and the first 3 weekends have been a wonderful sucess. Our first weekend saw 18 divers take part in a wreck photography workshop weekend at Capernwray with Charlie Hood giving expert advice to each underwater photographer. We then went down south, once again with Charlie Hood to try our luck with the Basking Sharks. We had an amazing weekend with loads of encounters with basking sharks and were able to stay in the water with them all day. Our most recent trip was to photograph Seals in the Farne Islands. This weekend was sponsored by Cameras Underwater, who also sent Duxy up with us, to complete his first UK dives and give help and advice to our group. The seals were a little skittish on Saturday, but Sunday brought the whole group amazing encounters with these playful creatures and some great shots. Our next weekend takes us back down to the south coast to Dorset where we will be doing both shore and boat diving along this amazing coastline on the 7th & 8th August. For more details click here
In September we will be joining the NUPG for their Summer Splash-In to hone our underwater photography compeition skills in North Wales. Based in Anglesey every entrant will get the chance to put their skills to the test on Saturday diving and then judging will take place that evening. For those with the stamina we will do some diving on Sunday too! Details of categories and prizes to follow. Click here for more information.
Mares will have equipment available for you to try out over many of the weekends and a representative to answer any questions you have about the Mares gear.
